The Kingdom

It has been argued that if there is one central, unifying theme throughout the whole bible - that theme is The Kingdom of God. When Jesus began his ministry (the work that we now carry on as his body), he began with an announcement: "The kingdom of God is near". From that day on, "the kingdom of God" became the dominant theme in Jesus' teaching. How many times did Jesus say "the kingdom of God is like..."? What is this kingdom? Who are its citizens? What are its rules? What does "the kingdom coming" mean as we try to understand God's Word? Is it here now? Is it still to come? Can it be both? What's our role in it? What does it mean about how we manage our church, our families, our lives? Let's dig into what may be Jesus' favorite subject for discussion: The Kingdom of God.
